A Clear Mind

Simplicity, clarity, singleness: these are the attributes that give our lives power and vividness and joy.
Richard Halloway

Heb 11:14-16
For those who say such things make it clear that they are seeking a country of their own. And indeed if they had been thinking of that country from which they went out, they would have had opportunity to return. But as it is, they desire a better country, that is, a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God; for He has prepared a city for them. NASU

To have a clear mind, you must sometimes clear some things out. I think in today’s world, we all have a problem in maintaining our direction. There are so many things to get involved in that will take up our time. This requires of us to ask ourselves a serious question of our direction, to which country am I traveling.

C.S. Lewis once said, “If you feel like you don’t fit in this world, it’s because you were made for another.” If you and I are citizens of Heaven, then we shouldn’t feel as if we fit here, and fill our minds with the things of here, but we should be doing as scripture says, we should be seeking the things that are above.

Col 3:1-3, tells us, “Therefore if you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth. For you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God.” So we are instructed for clearness of purpose, and mind to let some things die to see our way clearly too where we belong…God Bless.
