It is said that desire is a product of the will, but the opposite is true; will is the product of desire.
Denis Diderot, French Philosopher
Matt 6:20-23
"But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves do not break in or steal; for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. "The eye is the lamp of the body; so then if your eye is clear, your whole body will be full of light. "But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light that is in you is darkness, how great is the darkness! NASU
Where is your treasure? Many are looking for a safe place to keep their treasures today, and it doesn’t look like they are going to find any guaranteed safe places on this side of glory. What is at risk for them? The fulfillment of their lifelong dreams and desires is at risk. There is nothing wrong with security, but the real truth is that there is not security outside of Christ.
One of the things wrong with this world today is that they have placed their desires upon the treasures of the world and they place no value on the treasures of heaven. The reason for this is that because they are led by desire, and not by The Lord, they are led into deception. It can happen to anyone, the deceiver is good at what he does, which makes it important for us to maintain checks on our desires.
When you are led by the “Will of God,” you will begin to find that you will not try to change everything according to what your desires are, but your desire for things will change. Your decision to follow the Word of God will create in you a desire to please Him, and will place treasures and value in things that will last you an eternity…God Bless.
