Fearless Desire

2 Thess 1:11-12
To this end also we pray for you always, that our God will count you worthy of your calling, and fulfill every desire for goodness and the work of faith with power, so that the name of our Lord Jesus will be glorified in you, and you in Him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ. Now here is a secret overlooked many times in the church! We are to dream big for The Lord. He is a great big God, and He desires great things for us, and for “His Glory.” He wants us to succeed in saving many souls, the more the merrier, but so many times we shrink back in fear from fulfilling God’s desire for us.

Baltasar Gracian, an old Spanish philosopher said this of desire; “when desire dies, fear is born.” Now if we have incredible desires and strong feelings for our God, we will desire to do great things for Him. It is not wrong to dream big, and think out of the box for our Lord, and we should not let fear of failure stop us.

So what is Paul saying to us in Thessalonians, he is saying to us if we desire to lift up the name of Jesus that God will fulfill our every desire for goodness, and our work of faith. It’s not about us it’s all about Jesus, and if we focus on Him and desire that “His” Name is Glorified, we will be supplied all that we need, according to His matchless grace…God Bless.
