I need nothing but God, and to lose myself in the heart of God.

Jeremiah 9:23-24
This is what the Lord says: The wise must not boast in his wisdom; the mighty must not boast in his might; the rich must not boast in his riches. But the one who boasts should boast in this, that he understands and knows Me that I am the Lord, showing faithful love, justice, and righteousness on the earth, for I delight in these things. This is the Lord’s declaration. (HCSB)
Plato, the Greek philosopher who lived in the BC’s, had this to say about the much discussed subject of Love. His words were these “Love is a serious mental disease.” Now I tend to agree with him, for real love seems to consume us. It happens at loves first touch in us, the quickening pulse, a tightening chest, and a curiously strong attraction.
Now if that is how human affection strikes us, how much stronger should our love for God consume us. Deuteronomy 6:4-6, known as the “Shema” to the Jews, was a daily statement of faith, “Listen, Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is One. Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength. These words that I am giving you today are to be in your heart.”
Read Ecclesiastes and begin to understand what it was that Solomon learned, the smartest man that ever lived. Some of his terms might make you blush, but it seems he had discovered a great love for his God. I think that it is something that we all need to do today, look at Him again, examine all of His attributes and be consumed by a great love for all that He is, and be amazed that He is yours…God Bless.
