They spend their time looking forward to the past.

Isa 43:18-21
"Do not call to mind the former things, or ponder things of the past. "Behold, I will do something new, now it will spring forth; will you not be aware of it? I will even make a roadway in the wilderness, Rivers in the desert. "The beasts of the field will glorify Me, The jackals and the ostriches, Because I have given waters in the wilderness And Rivers in the desert, To give drink to My chosen people. "The people whom I formed for Myself will declare My praise. NASU
The past, it is a product of what we “choose” to remember. The past is made up of good times and bad, but those things that are good have a special place in each of our lives. The thing we must remember though is that we cannot go their again, and that is only right, it wouldn’t be proper; we would never get anywhere would we. John Keynes once said, “ I do not know which makes a man more conservative -- to know nothing but the present, or nothing but the past.”
So where is the balance? We cannot rest in the good things of the past, and we must not rest too much in the promises of the present. So then, where do we find rest, peace and the fulfillment of life? We find it in the Lord, He who tells us “I will do something new, and asks us this question, “will you be aware of it?” So the promise that we have, the rest and peace and purpose that I find in this life, is a looking forward at the life to come. God gives me hope for tomorrow.
This God, our God, makes roads in the wilderness, and streams in the desert, and even uses the most unlikely things to bring Him praise. The Ostrich, and the Jackal, and yes, even we are vessels chosen for His Glory. God has created and formed us for Himself, we are His chosen peoples, and Paul tells in 2 Cor 6:2 the time that we are to dwell on is today, “behold, now is "THE ACCEPTABLE TIME," behold, now is "THE DAY OF SALVATION”…God Bless
