Brand New, Every Morning

For what human ill does dawn not seem to be alternative?

Thornton Wilder 1897-1975, American Novelist, Playwright

Josh 24:15
"If it is disagreeable in your sight to serve the LORD, choose for yourselves today whom you will serve: whether the gods which your fathers served which were beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you are living; but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD." NASU

James Allen, Author of ''As a Man Thinketh,'' shares his thoughts today on the importance of the word “choice.” “Man is made or unmade by himself. By the right choice he ascends. As a being of power, intelligence, and love, and the lord of his own thoughts, he holds the key to every situation.”

Now I think it wonderful that our God decided that it would be “our” choice that would determine the outcome and destiny of our life, but it comes with consequences that are real and final. There are some days that I really foul up. My efforts seem futile, and I hear a nagging voice that tells me I have failed, I have fallen short of the measure. Have you ever felt defeat pulling you like that?

Sure you have, and so have I. But, I thank God that His promises are “new every morning,” and because I have made a conscious choice to follow Him, with every breaking of a new day, He will renew my strength in His “Great Faithfulness. I have decided to follow Jesus, no turning back, no turning back, and there is where the battle is won, on the choice of my decision, and the power given to me through the precious blood of Jesus…God Bless.
